Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti is one of the planet's most iconic wildlife ecosystems — vast open plains and a migration so large it reshapes the land beneath it. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it gave the world the imagery behind The Lion King, and still delivers the same drama to anyone who drives out onto its grass at dawn.
Tanzania's largest national park covers 5,700 square miles, part of a wider 11,583-square-mile ecosystem that includes the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the Masai Mara, and the surrounding game reserves. The name comes from the Maa word for 'the place where the land moves on forever' — apt, for a park with no fences and no end in sight.
It holds over two million ungulates, roughly 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 550 cheetahs, and around 500 recorded bird species. Every guide we send here has spent years reading which way the herds are about to turn.

Best time to visit
July to October is peak migration season, with the Mara River crossings landing in June–July. January–February brings the calving season and, with it, the best predator viewing in the park.
